Rix Funeral Directors began in 1890 in Big Spring, Texas, by B.C. Rix and his sons, H.L. Rix, J.A. Rix, and W.W. Rix. In 1916, they began service in Lubbock, Texas, with J.A., and later, W.W. as the funeral directors. W.W. Rix's daughter, Alice Ann Rix Victory, was employed by the firm during the time she attended Texas Tech University and, later, after her two children were grown. Her son, Whit Rix Victory, has been the funeral director in charge since the death of his grandfather, W.W. Rix, in 1956. The mission of RIX Funeral Directors is to have a wide range of quality services with innovative procedures, and merchandise that may be selected by all regardless of financial condition
